David Moser McKay
David Moser McKay is a Lecturer in Theory-Composition, Music Technology and Piano at Belmont University. A jazz pianist, composer and arranger, his commercial credits include McDonalds, Wendy’s, AT&T, American Standard, General Electric, Proctor & Gamble, Uniroyal, Sears, and the Environmental Protection Agency. As a film and TV composer, arranger and orchestrator, some of his more recent work includes the children’s TV series The Story of Joash, Issac and Rebakah, Such Were Some of You, and the feature film animation Lion of Judah (Paramount Pictures). He has appeared, recorded and collaborated with a number internationally acclaimed artists including Maranatha Praise Band, Derric Johnson, Jim Gilbert, Ron Kenoly, Leann and Carl Albrecht, Lynn DeShazo and Denyce Graves.
David is leader and founder of the smooth jazz group Quad Venti (available on iTunes). His choral music is published with LifeWay, Word Music Now, St. James Music Press, Art Masters Studios Inc. (Lorenz), Belden Street Music, and Earthsongs. He holds a Master of Music degree in Composition from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory (CCM), a Bachelor of Music in Composition, Literature, Theory and Piano from Heidelberg University, and an Associate in Theology degree from Florida Beacon Bible College. A composition student of Lukas Foss, Paul Palombo and Norman Dinerstein, McKay won the BMI Awards to Student Composers for Piano Concerto in 1976.
